Confessions...

Man, has it been a long week! And for the record, no matter how much you may want to keep the babies small, denial won't make them stop advancing.

The biggest thing this week was having what was potentially the biggest scare of my life thus far.

Sweet Savannah fell off our bed. Sadly, our bed is higher than average. Thinking:"S'ok, thankfully kids are resilient." True, and yet not. . .

I heard the awful thump and ran in to her. Scooping her up and holding her close I told her, "it's ok baby. . . you're alright." She was gasping. Trying to cry, unsuccessfully. I turned her to face me so I could make eye contact with her. It was then that I knew that this was more than just a parenting mistake. What in the world was I thinking?! She's a crawler...I knew better...

I looked at her beautiful face; she was on the brink of losing consciousness. "Of course, she got the wind knocked out of her. Hence the gasping and palor. No one should ever have to see their baby this shade of pale; sickly yellow/purple lips. . .Call the doctor. WHERE'S MY PHONE?!?"

Heading down the stairs with Savannah, on the phone with the doctor's office she vomitted. Oops, hung up on the doctor's office. More vomit. "EVERYONE IN THE CAR, NOW!" Don't worry about shoes, Cody and Alissa. We're taking Savannah to the hospital.

Crying, so much crying. Cody and Alissa seem a bit confused. "Keep Savannah AWAKE! Talk to her!"

At the hospital they check her out and do a CT scan to be sure that there's nothing that's being missed but ultimately declare her "Ok."

Still working on granting myself forgiveness for this horrid, neglegent act but you can bet your life that I have a whole new appreciation for the young lives that I'm responsible for!

  1. I'm not a mom personally but I love the blog. The "magazine" blog template would be awesome for your blog! You have one of the cutest babies I've ever seen. That kid should be a model!
